17 Steve Perry - For The Love Of Strange Medicine

Journey成立于1973年美国加州的旧金山，是一支以"Hard Rock"为基础的摇滚乐队.1977年Steve Perry加入乐队担任新的主唱，也因此使得Journey在商业成绩上大放异彩.

从1975年开始的连续三张以纯正Hard Rock风格为根底的专辑之后，在无法获得市场的广大共鸣后，Journey面临着延续乐队生命的重要抉择，那就是是否要开始朝向商业靠拢，最后的答案当然是肯定的.他们慧眼独具的发掘了Steve Perry为乐队的新主唱，并与吉他手Neil Schon共同担负起乐队音乐作品的主要创作，而Steve perry也没有辜负了Journey的期望，逐渐使得Journey在商业市场上获得了好成绩.

Journey在1981年推出第八张专辑(第七张录音室作品)"Escape"之后，将他们的商业成绩推向了颠峰，并使他们成为当年最受欢迎的摇滚乐队之一.专辑中出现了多首的畅销单曲，像是"Who's Crying Now"及"Don't Stop Believin'".其实商业排行榜的畅销单曲并不一定就是俗不可耐的俗气作品，要真正创作出雅俗共赏的商业与艺术兼顾的作品也不是件容易的事，而Journey的专辑"Escape"就做到了这一点.不过说句老实话，我个人还是比较怀念他们早期那种纯正Hard Rock风格的作品.
